Description

Cap: Creamy, whitish often with darker disc; convex to flatter with lined margin in age; smooth (sticky when wet); scattered, whitish, cottony warts easily wash off. Stalk: White; smooth to finely hairy at top, hairy/scaly near base; membranous whitish ring; basal bulb has membranous rings (usually) and collared volva (J. Solem, pers. comm.).

Where To Find

Solitary, loose groups on ground most often in coniferous forests, occasionally hardwoods (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
