Description

Ceratophyllum demersum has whorls of dichotomously branched leaves that furcate only once (rarely twice). The similar Ceratophyllum echinatum has leaves that furcate at least twice.

Where To Find

Coon's Tail is an aquatic vascular plant that grows in fresh or brackish water throughout Maryland. It may become a pest in ponds, lakes and shallow creeks with high nutrient inputs.
