Status
The early instars of the caterpillar of this undescribed moth species create a lower-surface blotch mine on gooseberry leaves. Mature instars exit the mine and continue feeding within a rolled leaf. Adults resemble the maple-feeding species Caloptilia umbratella (Eiseman, 2021: 821). Mines should be looked for on its host plants in Maryland.
Relationships
Larval host plants include Eastern Prickly Gooseberry and European Gooseberry (Eiseman, 2021).
