Status
Crimson-ringed Whiteface (Leucorrhinia glacialis) is a northern species near the southern limit of its distribution in Maryland. This species breeds in lakes or ponds, especially boggy ones (Paulson, 2011). This skimmer is restricted to high elevations in Garrett Co. (Richard Orr's The Dragonflies and Damselflies of Maryland and the District of Columbia). It is ranked as S1 (highly state rare).

Leucorrhinia glacialis, the crimson-ringed whiteface, is a species of skimmer in the dragonfly family Libellulidae. It is found in North America.[2][3][1][4]
The IUCN conservation status of Leucorrhinia glacialis is "LC", least concern, with no immediate threat to the species' survival. The population is stable. The IUCN status was reviewed in 2017.[1][5][6]
