Status

Capable of rapid color change as a defense mechanism. "Like many orbweavers, Gea drops from its web when disturbed and when it hits the ground pulls in its legs and plays dead. At the same time, the creamy colors on the abdomen blush dark brown, camouflaging the spider against the dark ground." (R. Borchelt, pers. comm.)
